Youth kills alcoholic brother

New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) A youth allegedly murdered hisalcoholic elder brother in the national capital in a fit ofrage after he fought with his mother, police said today.

The incident took place in Khirki Extension yesterday whenArvind (24) reached home from a hospital where he works as asweeper.

"On reaching home, he saw his brother Pradeep (26)fighting with his mother. Initially he ignored it but laterintervened as the situation turned ugly and in a fit of rageallegedly hit his brother with a sharp-edged weapon," a seniorpolice official said.

Arvind himself informed the police about the incident andthen rushed his brother to AIIMS trauma centre where thedoctors declared him brought dead.

The youth was arrested from AIIMS and during questioning,Arvind told police that Pradeep was an alcoholic and everydayused to fight with his mother.

"Arvind told us that he hit his brother thrice," theofficial said, adding that a case of murder has beenregistered after recording the statements of the accused andhis mother.
