Wrestler arrested for sodomy

New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) A 25-year-old wrestler wasarrested for allegedly sodomising his teenaged trainee at awrestling coaching centre in Outer Delhi, police said today.

The incident came to light yesterday after the victimtold his mother about it. Amrit Lal, the trainer who hailsfrom Haryana''s Sonepat district, was arrested.

The victim was learning wrestling at an ''akhara'' inSultanpuri for the past three years. The boy was silent on theissue for the past one week. Yesterday, when his mother askedhim why he was depressed, he told her that Lal had sexuallyassaulted him.

According to a senior police official said, the victimwas asked to stay back by Lal after a training session and helater took him to his room where he allegedly sodomised him.

The boy was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospitalfor medical examination following which Lal was arrested. PTISJY
