Woman run over by speeding car

New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) A 55-year-old woman was killedand her grandson injured today when a speeding car hit her inthe capital, police said.

The incident took place in Gokulpuri area at around10.30 am when Raj Dulari was walking to a medical store withher grandson.

A speeding car with an Uttar Pradesh registrationnumber hit her and ran her over. Her grandson also sustainedinjuries in the incident, police said.

They were rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital whereDulari was declared brought dead. The boy is undergoingtreatment.

The car driver fled the spot and the vehicle has beenimpounded.
