Six killed in road accident near AP town

Srikakulam(AP), Jan 18 (PTI) Six members of a familyincluding two children and two women were killed on the spotwhen the car they were travelling was hit by a lorry at LaveruMandal in the district today, police said.

The incident occurred at around 7.30 am near Budumuru onNH-5 when the car-driver lost control and dashed it against aroad-divider and then rolled onto another road where it washit by a speeding lorry resulting in the mishap, they said.

"All the car-inmates died instantaneously. They werenatives of Visakhapatnam and were returning after attending afunction in Gajapati district of Orissa," Laveru CircleInspector Ramesh told PTI adding the bodies have been sent forautopsy.

Further investigations are on.
