Minor girl died as bus hits motorcycle

New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) A three-year-old girl was killedwhile her uncle and mother were injured today when a Bluelinebus hit their motorcycle in West Delhi, police said.

The incident took place in Multan Nagar near PaschimVihar at around 6:30 pm when the victims were headed towardsMadipur to attend a wedding.

Ritika, the deceased, her uncle Mukesh and mother Sapnawere on the motorcycle when the bus plying between Old Delhiand Mubarakpur hit them from behind, police said.

The trio, residents of Sultanpuri, were rushed to anearby hospital where the girl was declared brought dead, theysaid.

Earlier, the police had said an eight-year-old boy Rohitand a youth Mukesh, who was riding the motorcycle, wereinjured in the accident.

The bus driver fled the spot soon after the incident,police said.

The family members arrived at the hospital, which is nearthe accident site and later pelted stones at the bus, allegingpolice inaction.

Shyam, the grandfather of the girl, alleged that policearrived at the spot very late. However, the police denied thecharge.

A case has been registered and efforts are on to nab theabsconding driver.
