Google fulfills Martin Luther's dream with Doodle

New York, Jan 18: The search engine giant Google once again came out with a new doodle which paid tribute to the 25th Martin Luther King Day on Tuesday, Jan 18.

This time Google fulfilled Martin Luther King's vision of of unity as today's Doodle captured a group of children playing hopscotch.

Today's doodle clearly reflected King's dream as once he mentioned, "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

If the viewers would click on the logo from the Google page in United Nations, he/she would find several information regarding Martin Luther King and events happening today remembering the King.

Martin Luther King, an American clergyman, was a prominent leader in the African American civil rights movement and he was an iconic figure in the advancement of civil rights in the United States and around the world.

He was also famous for his using of nonviolent methods following the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

King in 1964 won Nobel peace prize for his work to end racial segregation and racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other nonviolent means but he was brutally killed in 1968.

President Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983, and it was first observed on Jan 20, 1986. Since then, the third Monday in Jan of each year honors Dr King's birthday (Jan 15, 1929) and his years of service.
