Fire at IOC depot in Navi Mumbai
Mumbai, Jan 18 (PTI) A major fire broke out at theIndian Oil Corporation depot at Taloja in Navi Mumbai in thewee hours today, destroying around 40,000 litres of lubricantoil.
The fire broke out at around 1 AM and about 25-30 fireengines were rushed to the spot to douse the flames, a firebrigade official said.
"The blaze began from containers containing lubricantoil. Thousands of drums with 200 litres capacity each, storedin the godown caught fire and it destroyed around 40,000litres of lubricant oil," the official said.
No casualties have been reported, the official said,adding, the flames have been partially brought under controland fire fighting operations are on.
In October 2009, a fire had broken at an IOC depotnear Jaipur and left 10 people dead.
