Congress workers told to go to public against Modi

Ahmedabad, Jan 17 (PTI) Gujarat Congress in-charge B KHariprasad today called upon party members to bring to lighthow state Chief Minister Narendra Modi was spreading canardsand trying to mislead people.

"Party leaders and workers should go to people andinform them about the tall claims of Gujarat chief ministerwhich are misleading and false," Hariprasad said addressing agathering of district presidents of the party here today.

This is for the first time the state party top brassmet here after their defeat by the BJP in the local bodypolls held in October last year.

Hariparsad said that there is need to strengthen theparty in the state by approaching each and every section ofthe society and turn them toward Congress.

"Gujarat government is taking credit forimplementation of schemes launched by the UPA government, thatshould be brought to public notice," Hariprasad said.

"We have to believe that the party is supreme. It isthe duty of every worker of the party to go to people andbring facts to light," he said.

He suggested that committee should be formed at talukaand district level by the party for the purpose of exposingthe BJP and tell the people about popular schemes introducedby the UPA government.

Prasad said that the work should start from now withan aim to win the 2012 state elections.
