''Cong action on party MLAs joining Jagan at appropriate time''

Hyderabad, Jan 18 (PTI) Asserting that the Congressleadership has taken a serious note of about 25 party MLAsjoining former MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in his fast in Delhi,Andhra Pradesh Congress president D Srinivas today said theparty would act on the matter at an appropriate time.

"The party leadership has taken a serious note of thematter. Party would act at an appropriate time," he toldreporters here.

Asked about the next meeting of political parties to beconvened by the Centre to discuss the Srikrishna committeereport, Srinivas said the parties who want to send only onerepresentative can do so even if the Centre allows tworepresentatives.

TRS had stayed away from the meeting organised earlierthis month demanding that the Centre insist on the parties''sending only one representative so that there may not be anydivergent opinions on regional lines from the same party.

Srinivas, who belongs to Telangana region, began hisfresh term in office after the party leadership announced thathe would remain in office until further orders.

He said he would strive for strengthening the party fromthe grass roots.

Several party leaders congratulated Srinivas on beinggiven a fresh term in office.
