Alagiri meets Karunanidhi

Chennai, Jan 18 (PTI) For the first time after theresignation drama surrounding him, DMK''s strongman andUnion minister M K Alagiri met his father and party chief MKarunanidhi today.

Both were tight-lipped over the meeting which tookplace at Karunanidhi''s Gopalapuram residence here.

Alagiri, also party''s south zone organising secretary,flew down from Madurai and evaded reporters at the airport.

Upset over the prominence given to younger siblingKanimozhi and his being ill at ease in Delhi, Alagiri hadreportedly voiced displeasure and volunteered to quit theUnion Cabinet.

Alagiri was also reportedly upset about DMK shieldingformer telecom minister A Raja on the 2G spectrum scam.

However, Karunanidhi had sought to scotch the reportsof Alagiri''s resignation, saying, "They are just reports andlet them continue to be media reports." PTI SA SR BN
