Advani hosts lunch for former Japanese PM Hatoyama
New Delhi, Jan 17 (PTI) BJP Parliamentary PartyChairperson L K Advani today hosted a lunch for visitingformer Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama at which theforthcoming India-Japan Global Partnership Summit came up fordiscussion.
The five-member delegation visiting India underHatoyama''s leadership mainly discussed investment on theupcoming Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor DevelopmentCorporation (DMIC-DC), a major part of which passes throughGujarat, at the luncheon meeting, sources said.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi also attended themeeting.
Other than Advani and Modi, BJP leaders who attended themeeting are Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley,Deputy Leader of the party in Upper House S S Ahluwalia,former External Affairs and Finance Minister Jaswant Singh,and senior BJP leaders M M Joshi and Najma Heptullah.
When asked if the nuclear cooperation issue also came upfor discussion, party sources replied in the negative.
Hatoyama along with five Japanese delegates also had abrief meeting with top officials of the Delhi-MumbaiIndustrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMIC-DC).
He also announced the launch India-Japan GlobalPartnership Summit which is scheduled to be held in Tokyo inSeptember this year.
The Summit is aimed at enhancing socio-economic,cultural and spiritual bonding between the two nations.
