Two arrested for writing others'' exam papers

Kanpur, Jan 16 (PTI) A Special Task Force team fromLucknow busted a gang involved in writing exam papers onbehalf of candidates during a banking entrance exam heretoday, an official said.

On a tip-off, a raid was conducted during acompetitive exam of the State Bank of India at Bal VidyaMandir here and Navin Bajpai and Mukesh Yadav were arrested,STF SP Manoj Kumar Jha told PTI over phone from Lucknow.

The duo were writing exam in place of other examineesby replacing the photograph of real candidates in admit cards,he said.

Five more people who were running a coaching institutewere arrested following interrogation of the two, Jha said.

The coaching was run by Bhupendra Verma and SubhashVerma and their gang was active in other states also apartfrom Uttar Pradesh and took lakhs of rupees from thecandidates, the SP said.

STF team was interrogating the arrested andinvestigations are on, he said.
