Truck with 315 rice bags seized

Yavatmal, Jan 16 (PTI) Darwha police in the district havearrested three persons and seized a truck which was carrying315 rice bags, meant for public distribution system (ration)shops.

Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid by police officerUdaysingh Chandel and his team yesterday.

They arrested Jaykumar Sanap (25), Sandeep Ingole (24)and Sunil Pansari (22), all residents of village Loni, afterintercepting the truck bearing registration number MH37-B/659.

Accused have been remanded to police custody tilltomorrow.

The truck was transporting rice from Risod in Washimdistrict, which was meant for PDS shops in Yavatmal.

Each bag of rice contains 50 kg of rice.
