TN should be rid of Karunanidhi''s ''evil rule'': Jayalalithaa

Chennai, Jan 17 (PTI) AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa todaysaid Tamil Nadu should be rid of the ''evil rule ofKarunanidhi,'' as the 94th birth annivesary of her mentor andformer Chief Minister M G Ramachandran was observed across thestate today.

"Tamil Nadu should be rid of Karunanidhi''s evil rule.

We will not sleep until DMK is voted out of power," she saidin her address to party cadres after garlanding MGR''s statueat the AIADMK headquarters.

She said it was only a ''matter of time'' before the DMKwas defeated in the Assembly elections, scheduled for May thisyear, and "nobody can change that."

Jayalalithaa and Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin, atseparate functions, paid tributes to the founder of AIADMK,popularly known as MGR.

While she garlanded MGR''s statue at the AIADMKheadquarters, Stalin paid floral tributes to the statue at theDr M G R Medical University here.
