SOG personnel dies of bullet injury, police suspect suicide

Berhampur (Orissa), Jan 16 (PTI) A personnel of Orissa''selite anti-naxlal force Special Operation Group (SOG) postedat Brahmanigaon in Kandhamal district today died followingbullet injury with police suspecting that he had committedsuicide.

Sanjay Patra was found bleeding profusely in the barrackwith bullet wound in his head, Inspector General of Police(Southern Range), R K Sharma said.

Patra was immediately taken to a local hospitaland later shifted to MKCG Medical College Hospital here wheredoctors declared him dead, he said.

Though Patra, who hailed from Parajang area in Dhenkanaldistrict, was suspected to have committed suicide by shootinghimself from his pistol, a clear picture would emergeafter thorough investigation, the IGP added.
