Cop injured in encounter between naxalites and police
Gaya, Jan 17 (PTI) A police constable was injured inan encounter between the police and naxalites near Raja Bhandlocality in Bihar''s naxal-infested Gaya district, a seniorpolice official said.
The constable, identified as Sanjiv, sustained bulletinjuries after the naxalites fired at the policemen duringthe encounter, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) AmitLodha said.
The encounter took place when a police team returningfrom nearby forests at Latua village after conducting acombing operation against the naxalites were fired upon by theultras near Raja Bandh prompting the police to retaliate.
The encounter was on, reports reaching here at 2pmsaid.
