US denies NATO's involvement in Jan 13 cross-border shelling in Pak
Islamabad, Jan 16(ANI): The United States embassy has denied reports suggesting any involvement of NATO forces in a cross-border shelling incident on January 13.
Commenting on the reports that NATO forces had been involved in the cross-border shelling incident, leaving eight Pakistani civilians killed, the embassy spokesman said the reports were baseless and incorrect.
"US embassy officials confirmed with NATO commanders and found that no NATO forces were involved in any attack on January 13 in or affecting Pakistani territory," the Daily Times quoted the spokesman, as saying.
"All NATO operations in Afghanistan conducted along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region are closely coordinated with the government of Pakistan," the spokesman added. (ANI)
