Union Minister Joshi downplays Modi''s claim on Investment

Vadodara, Jan 15 (PTI) Union Minister for RuralDevelopment C P Joshi today downplayed Gujarat Chief MinisterNarendra Modi''s claim of signing over 7,300 MoUs involvinginvestment of Rs 20.83 lakh crore at the Vibrant Gujaratsummit.

Talking to newsmen here today, Joshi asked as to," whydoes Modi not declare the figures of investments involvingimplementation of projects in the state after signing of MoUsworth lakhs of crores of rupees since 2003" ?

Making light of Modi''s claims, he said various stategovernments have been holding such summits and there wasnothing new in it.

Joshi was in the city for witnessing the final day�splay of Ranji final between Rajasthan and Baroda.

Joshi also criticised Gujarat government for poorimplementation of NREG Act and said there were irregularitiesin utilisation of NREGA fund in construction of Bori band inPorbandar and the centre was investigation the matter.
