SAIL signs agreement with IRCON for rail projects
Mumbai, Jan 15 (PTI) Maharatna PSU Steel Authority ofIndia Ltd (SAIL) today inked a memorandum of understanding(MoU) with IRCON International for jointly working on railinfrastructure projects both in India and abroad.
IRCON, which has expertise in development of surfacetransportation infrastructure, has handled around 300 projectsin India and abroad and is currently setting up railinfrastructure in a number of developing countries. SAIL is amajor producer and supplier of railway materials.
The MoU is the first step by SAIL and IRCON towardsjoining hands for efficient execution of public-public andpublic-private partnership projects of the Railways, as wellas participating in rail infrastructure projects in developingcountries, a release said here.
