MEDC to speed up single window system process
Thane, Jan 16 (PTI) Maharashtra Economic DevelopmentCorporation (MEDC) has assured the industrialists that theGovernment agency would soon initiative the process formeeting their long-pending demand of setting up singe windowsystem (SWS) for clearances.
Delivering the first Ashida Bhau Kulkarni MemorialLecture here today, MEDC President Vitthal Kamath said he wasaware of the innumerable hurdles faced by the industries inthe state, where they are required to obtain more than 100licences and permits.
At a recent meeting, MEDC decided to push through theSWS proposal and get it activated at the earliest, he said.
Kamath, considered a pioneer in the eco-friendly hotelindustry, said even if 20 per cent of women in the countrybecome entrepreneurs, the economy will grow manifold.
He called upon women to take up entrepreneurship inlarge numbers.
