Labour dept to organise registration camps across UP

Kanpur, Jan 15 (PTI) Labour department today launcheda programme under which camps will be organised in everydistricts of Uttar Pradesh for registration of constructionworkers and providing them identity cards.

"The department has instructed all the AdditionalLabour Commissioners and Deputy Labour Commissioners toorganise camps in their respective regions from today to March1 for registration of construction labourers," LabourCommissioner Sitaram Meena said in a statement here.

At the registration camps, construction workers willbe provided with forms and doctors there will confirm theirage after which they will be given identity cards, theofficial said, adding that the department is expecting supportfrom builders, contractors, labour unions and NGOs.
