Committee set up to submit report on retrieving Panchami lands
Chennai, Jan 16 (PTI): The Tamil Nadu Government todayappointed a Committee to examine and submit a report onretrieving "Panchami" lands.
Former Madras High Court Judge M Marudhamuthu would headthe Committee.
An official press release said Chief Minister MKarunanidhi has already issued orders in this regard.
The move comes after Governor Surjit Singh Barnala''sannouncement in his address to the assembly that a Committeewould be set up on issues related to Panchami lands as part ofrestoring lands belonging to Scheduled Caste people.
Retired IAS officers I V Manivannan, V Karuppan, LandAdministration Commissioner would be its members, thestatement added.
