Cold claims three more lives in UP, toll climbs to 130
Lucknow, Jan 15 (PTI) Three more persons died due to coldin different parts of the Uttar Pradesh, taking the toll inthe state this winter to 130 even as mercury has startedrising at many places.
One death each was reported from Bhadohi, Maharajganj andChandauli due to cold conditions, officials said here today.
Though cold conditions persisted in most parts of thestate, sunshine today provided some respite to the people fromthe biting cold.
According to Met department rise in mercury level hasgiven some relief to the people from cold wave condition.
Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 10 degreeCelsius, which was three notches above normal, while Varanasirecorded a maximum of 11 degrees Celsius, which was threenotches above normal.
Fatehgarh, which recorded a minimum of 5.7 degree C, wasthe coldest place in the state.
