CM''s wife files FIR against peasant leader

Guwahati, Jan 16 (PTI) Dolly Gogoi, wife of Assam ChiefMinister Tarun Gogoi, today filed an FIR against peasantleader Akhil Gogoi for alleging that the couple own houses inthe United States.

Dolly in the FIR with case number 48/11 at the Basisthapolice station stated that the allegation levelled by AkhilGogoi was totally false and misleading, officer-in-charge SDeka said.

Gogoi had recently alleged that the chief minister andhis wife were owners of two houses in the United States wheretheir daughter resides.

The chief minister has denied the allegation and saidit was ''politically motivated''.

The police said an investigation would be conducted intothe case.
