Businessman robbed of Rs 15 lakh

New Delhi, Jan 15 (PTI) Four motorcyclists waylaid abusinessman and robbed him of Rs 15 lakh while he was on wayto a bank to deposit it while a grocery shop owner was shot atby unidentified men when he resisted their robbery attempts.

While the businessman was targeted in broad daylightin Keerti Nagar this morning, the grocery shopowner wastargeted in New Usmanpur last night but managed to thwarttheir attempts to take away his cash.

Today''s incident took place in Keerti Nagar at around11 am and the victim has been identified as Vikas Khanna (41),who owns a plywood shop.

"He was on his way to deposit the cash at a nearbyIndian Overseas bank. He got out of his car to drop hisdaughter at her tuition centre when the incident took place,"a senior police official said.

Four men on two motorcycles stopped them and held himat gunpoint after which they asked him to part with the cashbag, the official said.

The four persons then fled from the spot in their twowheelers.

A case has been registered and further investigationsare on.

Last night, 60-year-old grocery shopowner HarishChandra was shot at by bikers in north-east Delhi''s NewUsmanpur at around 10 pm when he resisted their robberyattempts.

The victim was returning home when he suffered bulletinjuries on his chest.

"He refused to part with his cash bag. The bikers fledthe spot after the victim raised an alarm and locals gatheredat the spot," the official said.

He was rushed to the nearby GTB hospital where hiscondition is said to be critical.
