Akalis flay UPA Govt on price rise
Chandigarh, Jan 16 (PTI) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)today slammed the Centres decision to raise petrol prices anddemanded a rollback in the hike, saying the move will have anadverse effect on the common man.
In a statement here, SAD spokesman Daljit Singh Cheemasaid it is surprising to see that instead of taking steps tocontrol the inflation, the Centre has grossly increased theprices of petrol and diesel, which will have an adverse affecton the common man, who is facing price hike in food products.
Cheema said that such a sharp inflation is because ofthe failures of the Centre in anticipating shortage of foodproducts and its negligence in taking corrective steps.
Large scale corruption prevalent in the Centre andcoalition compulsions that prevent the UPA government fromtaking action against non-performing and corrupt ministers, has added more fuel to the fire, he alleged.
He also demanded that the Centre must roll back theprices of diesel and petrol.
