AIMPLB member flays police for arresting innocent'' people
Bhopal, Jan 16 (PTI) The All-India Muslim Personal LawBoard (AIMPLB) today denounced the police for arresting peoplewithout proper investigations in criminal cases, especiallythose related to terror.
"The AIMPLB has received complaints from a number ofstates, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh andMaharashtra, that many innocent people were rounded up andlet-off after staying in jails for years," Kalbe Jawwad, amember of the apex body of Muslims, told PTI.
When an innocent person is arrested like this, heunnecessarily gets branded as a terrorist or a criminal andhad to spend many precious years of his life in jail, he said.
The AIMPLB member said it was not his case thatterrorists or criminals should not be apprehended. However, noinnocent should be allowed to suffer without any valid reason.
