21-gun-salute given to slain police officer
Amravati, Jan 16 (PTI) The body of a police officer whodied in a shoot-out with an absconding accused in Malkapurtown of the district yesterday, was brought to the policeheadquarters here today.
Police Sub Inspector Sanjay Chandrakant Chaugule (35) wasshot dead in Pant nagar locality of Malkapur last night.
The PSI''s body was given a 21-gun-salute by hiscolleagues at Amravati police headquarters, before beingtransported to his native place, Gadhinglaj, in Kolhapur.
Senior police officers including police commissionerAmitesh Kumar and Chaugule''s family members were present onthis occasion.
Born in 1975, Chaugule joined the police force in 2005.
