Vaiko slams Centre
Chennai,Jan13 (PTI) MDMK leader Vaiko today slammed theCentre over the killing of a Tamil Nadu fisherman allegedly bySri Lankan navy, saying its approach on the issue was "notproper."
"The Manmohan Singh government''s approach in this issue isnot proper. If this had involved another country, it wouldhave even snapped diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka. ButIndia has not even condemned such incidents," he said in astatement here.
Gujarat fishermen straying into Pakistani waters have notcome under any attack from that navy, Vaiko said adding ifsuch an incident had occurred in any other part of thecountry, it would have turned into a major issue.
The MDMK leader also slammed Chief Minister M Karunanidhisaying he stopped with writing letters to the Centre duringsuch incidents.
