Telangana Cong leaders seek Azad''s help in achieving statehood

Hyderabad, Jan 13 (PTI) Telangana Congress MonitoringGroup (TCMG), a group comprising several ruling party leadersfrom Telangana, today urged Union Health Minister Ghulam NabiAzad to help in formation of separate Telangana state.

"The December 9, 2009 announcement of Union Home Ministeron the initiation of process of separate statehood ofTelangana is being treated as the birthday gift of CongressPresident. The ongoing now or never mass movement is beingrecognised as unprecedented by global analysts andhistorians," the memorandum submitted to Azad by TCMG said.

"Nothing short of expeditious separation of Telangana cansave our party in this land, for which Telangana CongressMonitoring Group humbly prays for," it said.

The TCMG leaders held a demonstration and gave roses toAzad in the ''Gandhigiri'' style, Andhra Pradesh Congressgeneral secretary R Ananda Bhaskar told PTI.

The TCMG members had given a similar memorandum to UnionLaw Minister and in-charge of Congress affairs in AP, earlier.
