Onions from Pakistan arrive in Gujarat's Mundra Port
Mundra (Gujarat), Jan.14 (ANI): About 300 tons of onions have reportedly arrived from Pakistan at Gujarat's Mundra Port.
Port officials speaking on condition of anonymity said that the onions from Pakistan had arrived in response to the Indian Government's request to Pakistan a couple of days ago to resume onion exports.
Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar had earlier said that a contract had been entered into for Pakistani onion supply at Mundra port at Gujarat.
It maybe recalled that Pakistan had imposed a ban on onion exports through the land route.
Onions prices are still on the higher side, and it is believed that the arrival of the item from Pakistan will go a long way in bringing the prices down. (ANI)
