Large Taxpayers''s unit inaugurated

Chennai, Jan 13 (PTI): Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes MinisterS N M Ubayadhulla today inaugurated the new office of LargeTaxpayers'' Unit with additional facilities here.

Ubayadhulla had announced in the State Assembly last year,that a large Taxpayers'' Unit would be created for tax payerswho contribute 60 per cent of the tax receipt of the State.

As per the announcement, a new Large Taxpayers'' Unit wasinaugurated by him at Egmore today which would cater to 170dealers.

Besides for enabling customers to pay their taxes onlineof which the service was available only through State Bank ofIndia, the Minister also inaugurated the extension of thisfacility through Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank and Bank ofBaroda, the statement added.
