3 land record department officials suspended in UP land scam

Ghaziabad, Jan 14 (PTI) Three officials of UttarPradesh land record department were today suspended forallegedly providing information about government land to theprime accused of a multi-crore land scam.

District Magistrate Hredesh Kumar suspended threeclerks of the department, Charan Kumar Verma, Harpal Singh andLiyaqut Ali, for passing information to prime accused MotiGoel regarding the government land in Ghaziabad and GautamBudh Nagar in 2004.

Goel used to find out from the officials as to whichland was to be acquired by the government so that he wouldprocure the same land and get it registered in his own andas well as in the names of his family members.
