WB govt to submit affidavit to HC on Lalgarh firing tomorrow
Kolkata, Jan 12 (PTI) Following the Calcutta HighCourt''s directive to state its position on the demand for aCBI inquiry into the Lalgarh firing incident and existence ofarmed CPI-M camps, the West Bengal government today said itwill submit its affidavit tomorrow.
"We have sought reports from the SPs of all threeMaoist-hit districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Puruliaimmediately on armed camps," Chief Secretary Samar Ghosh saidhere.
To a question, Ghosh said that if camps were found toexist, the state government would immediately take actionagainst them.
The high court gave the direction to file andaffidavit on its position on a PIL by the Bar Association ofthe high court.
Seven persons were killed in firing by suspectedCPI-M armed cadre at Netai village in Lalgarh police stationarea on January seven.
