Android devices get Google Translate app update

California, Jan 13: Internet giant Google has announced the release of update version of their Google Translate app for Android devices. The new update version allows the users to communicate with others in different language. This 'Conversation Mode' is still in developing stage and supports English and Spanish currently.

The new improvements also include better dropdown boxes to help select the languages the user want to translate from and into, an improved input box, and cleaner icons and layout. Other features include machine translation, romanization of non-Roman scripts and spoken translations.

The Conversation Mode allows uers to speak through their microphones and to get the translated version of this conversation. The conversation partner can then respond in their language, and the users can hear the translation spoken back to him.

The Google Translate app for Android supports 53 languages and voice input for 15 languages. The new app is available in Android Market and supports devices running Android 2.1 and above.
