Several papers of misappropriation of funds missing, says DGP

Ranchi, Jan 12 (PTI) Several papers are missing inconnection with alleged misappropriation of funds in purchaseof sporting equipment and ''out-of-turn'' allotment of tendersto bidders in the construction of infrastructure for NationalGames.

"The Investigating Officer told me several documents havebeen missing while he is studying the papers found (duringraids) and (accordingly) a report will be submitted," DirectorGeneral of Police Chief Neyaz Ahmed, who also looks after thestate Vigilance Bureau, told a news conference here.

He was replying to a query on the progress of vigilanceprobe into the alleged misappropriation of fundsafter FIRs had been filed last year against someoffice-bearers of the National Games Organising Committee.

The vigilance bureau has also raided the places of aformer government official a fortnight ago.

The Games are scheduled to be held from February 12 to 26.
