Lenin moves court against complaint by Nithyananda devotee
Bangalore, Jan 12 (PTI): K Lenin, former driver ofself-styled godman Nityananda today moved the Karnataka HighCourt against a complaint filed against him by one of swami''sdevotees, Anjula Jackson.
Lenin prayed for squashing the complaint and granting aninterim stay. The case will come up for hearing on January 15.
Anjula, in her complaint, had said Lenin committed variousoffences under provisions of the Indian Penal Code when makingthe alleged sleaze video involving Nityananda and actressRanjita that kicked up a storm when aired on television.
Lenin, she said, had violated the Indecent Representationof Women Act and the Information Technology Act and had alsotresspassed into private property when shooting the video.
Anjula''s complaint against Lenin follows the recent filingof two seperate complaints involving him by two other womendevotees of Nithyananda, including Ranjita.
The actress and another devotee Ma Nithya Supriyananda had,in late December 2010, filed a complaint of attempted rape,threat to life extortion and other charges against Lenin.
Ranjita had cited various instances when Lenin made sexualadvances towards her. When she threatened to complain againsthim to Nithyananda, she said he "displayed few poorly shotvideos of his molestation of two women Brahmacharis on hislaptop" and warned that she would see her own photos in suchvideos if she dared to complain.
On February 2,while she was in Kerala for a film shoot, shereceived a call from an ashram resident that a lawyer by nameR Shridhar, an accomplice of Lenin, had met him in Salem andhad followed him to Ramanagara where he displayed some photosof Nityananda in a ''compromising'' position with her, she said.
He had sought payment of Rs 20 crore for not releasing thephotographs to the media, she said, adding that the purportedvideo was "expertly crafted to give no indication about itsmorphing."
Supriyananda in her complaint alleged that Lenin hadattempted to rape her, made threats to life and verbal abuseof her community (Scheduled Caste).
