L and T exports its first nuclear power equipment to USA

Mumbai, Jan 13 (PTI) Engineering major Larsen andToubro today said it has delivered its first four Dry ShieldedCanisters for Transnuclear, a US-based nuclear power operator.

"These Canisters form a part of orders for 50 suchunits for three leading American nuclear power plantoperators, to be manufactured in accordance with the US Codeof Federal Regulations and Nuclear Safety Class 1 standards,"the company said in a statement.

"This marks an international recognition of ourcapabilities and also the first steps in participating in thepotentially large global nuclear equipment market," L and TBoard Member and President (Heavy Engineering) M V Kotwal saidin the statement.

L and T serves the power sector across the entirespectrum from design services to equipment manufacture,erection, construction and commissioning of complete projectson a turn-key basis.
