Geojit announces Rs 12 crore profit in Q3

Kochi, Jan 12 (PTI) Geojit BNP Paribas, a leading stockbroker in the country, reported a Rs 12.2 crore third quarterprofit after tax (PAT) for the 2010-11 fiscal.

The results were announced after a board meeting heretoday, a Geojit press release said.

For the quarter ended December 31, the consolidatedincome has gone up by 6 per cent from Rs 78 crore to Rs 83crore. PAT for the comparable period has come down by one percent from Rs 12.4 crore to Rs 12.2 crore.

For the nine months ended December 31, the consolidatedincome has come down by 7 per cent from Rs 236 crore to Rs 218crore. PAT for the comparable nine month period has come downby 34 per cent from Rs 38.7 crore to Rs 25.5 crore.

"We have increased our retail market share for the periodunder review which has resulted in positive results, althoughretail market volume was down by roughly 16 per cent," GeojitBNP Paribas MD C J George said.
