Cong mulls breach of privilege notice against Govt
Bangalore, Jan 12 (PTI): Opposition Congress today said itwas contemplating to move a breach of privilege notice againstthe BJP Government over the leak of report of a legisalturecommittee appointed to look into the October 11 pell-mell inthe Asembly.
Opposition Congress leader Siddaramaiah, talking toreportes, took strong objection to the leaking of contents ofthe Appacchu Ranjan Committee to the media.
"When the report has not been tabled in the House, howcan it be circulated to the press", he asked.
Siddaramaiah claimed that the using that report, thegovernment was planning to seek disqualification of 20opposition MLAs.
"Such uproarious scenes have occurred in the house onearlier occasions and no government resorted toanti-democratic methods", he said.
It is believed that the report had blamed Siddaramaiahand others for provoking MLAs during the first trust votetaken by Yeddyurappa on October 11 following withdrawal ofsupport to his government by 16 MLAs, including fiveindependents.
