Varsities bill passed
Bangalore, Jan 12 (PTI): The Karnataka State Assembly todaypassed the Karnataka State Universities (Amendment) Bill 2011.
The bill provide for appointment of an officer not belowthe rank of Group-A officer of the supertime scale or a memberof the faculty of any university working as a professorfor atleast ten years to be a Registrar of a university.
The House also passed The Karnataka State Public RecordsBill, 2010 to ensure proper maintenance and preservation ofgovernment records in the state which will be useful in theday-to-day administration and to the persons conductingresearch.
The other bill that got the House approval include; TheHampi World Heritage Area Management Authority (Amendment)Bill, 2011; The Karnataka Cooperative Societies (Amendment)Bill, 2011; the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund (Amendment)Bill, 2010 and The Industrial Employment (Standing Orders)(Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2005.
