Two held with leopard skin

Dehradun, Jan 12 (PTI) Two suspected poachers werearrested with a leopard skin at Sangamchatti area ofUttarkashi district, official sources said today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of forest officials stoppedSunil Kumar and Anil Kumar, who were riding a motorcycle, forchecking last evening and recovered a 7-feet-long leopard skinfrom them, they said.

During interrogation, the duo told the officials thatthey had killed the leopard in the jungles of Naugaon Bhankoliof the district a few months back, and now they were going toDehradun to sell the skin.

The two have been booked under the Wildlife ProtectionAct.
