Temple guard murdered in Gujarat

Vadodara, Jan 12 (PTI) A watchman at the Jain Derasartemple here was today killed when he tried to prevent a gangof robbers from committing theft in the premises, police said.

The incident took place in the early hours at the templein Abhilasha Chokdi in the city outskirts, when Mukesh heardthe noise of some unidentified men breaking the lock of atemple room, following which he pressed the alarm button.

On hearing the alarm, the robber fled the scene anddragged the watchman to a nearby spot and killed him afterhitting him with stones.

The victim, who received serious injuries on his head,died on the spot, they said adding further investigations areon.
