Sugar remains weak on sluggish demand

Mumbai, Jan 12 (PTI) Sugar prices continued to rule weakat the Vashi Wholesale market here today on subdued retaildemand coupled with steady supplies from mills.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) dipped by Rs 10/15 perquintal to Rs 2,906/2,991 from yesterday''s closing level ofRs 2,921/3,001.

Small sugar quality (S-30) moved down by Rs 10/11 perquintal to Rs 2,886/2,931 as compared to Rs 2,896/2,942previously.

The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,886/2,931 (Rs 2,896/2,942) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,906/2,991(Rs 2,921/3,001).
