NRI cell in Punjab

Chandigarh, Jan 11 (PTI) To speedily redress grievancesof Non-Resident Indians, an NRI cell was set up in the officeof the Punjab Chief Minister today.

Darbara Singh Guru, Principal Secretary to CM ParkashSingh Badal, would head the cell, an official spokesman said.

Financial Commissioner (Revenue) and the state DirectorGeneral of Police would be among others members of the cell,he said.

The cell would help in quickly responding to problemsfaced by the NRIs and speedy redressal of their grievances,the spokesman said.

The government had already taken steps for protectingproperties of the NRIs, he said adding fast-track courts hadbeen set up to resolve disputes relating to them.
