North Korea resumes hotline; Seoul terms insincere

South Korea Flag
Seoul, Jan 12: North Korea used a border hot-line to call South Korea on Jan 12. A government official from Seoul informed about this first direct conversation after the tensions in Nov 2010.

South Korea has dismissed North's call for a talk terming it as insincere and an attempt to secure financial aid. They insist that North Korea first apologise for the violent shellings of a South Korean island in Nov 2010.

North Korea has invited Seoul for talks and proposed to restart a hot-line at Panmunjom, a village on the border of the two nations.
