MoU signed for burner blocks
Ranchi, Jan 11 (PTI) The Centre for Iron and Steel(RDCIS), SAIL, and REFCOM (India) Private Limited today signeda MoU for a joint development of castable-basedpreshaped/prefired burner blocks for reheating/heat treatmentfurnaces in steel plants.
The MoU was signed by Aditya Swarup Mathur, ExecutiveDirector In-charge, RDCIS, SAIL and Akash Singhania, Director,REFCOM at Ispat Bhawan, RDCIS, SAIL, according to a SAILrelease here.
"This agreement is an another effort of RDCIS, SAILin research activities of refractory products and itsimplementation in steel plants leading to the reduction ofspecific cost and consumption of refractories," it said.
The agreement would be able to improve burner blocklife leading to higher availability of reheating furnace andreduction in refractory consumption
