IndiGo set to fly with huge $15.6 bn order

New Delhi, Jan 12: IndiGo, India's favourite budget carrier is rearing to go and has positioned itself to create a record of sorts. IndiGo is all set to acquire 180 Airbus' making it the first client to order the latest in the A320-neo series. The acquisition will cost an estimated $15.6 billion and will uplift IndiGo to the big league making it the first commercial order of such magnitude.

Nothing short of an aviation history, IndiGo will acquire these airbuses to enhance their already flourishing fleet of air crafts. The A320-neo is an improved version of its already popular A320. The latest order is expected to be delivered between 2016 and 2025.

The A320-neo series has other significant features like efficient engines, fuel savings, less engine noise and reduced emissions.

IndiGo has extensive plans to upgrade their international operations substantially within the low-cost parameter.
