HC judge advises appeal against Krishna award
Vijayawada, Jan 11 (PTI) A former High Court judge todaysaid that Andhra Pradesh government should file appeal in theSupreme Court against the award of Krishna Water DisputeTribunal.
Speaking at a meeting here, Justice Laxmana Rao, retiredJudge of Allahabad High Court, said that there was a need tofile an appeal before the Supreme Court, as award did not dojustice to the state.
Subba Rao, a retired engineer from irrigation departmentalso felt that the farmers should resist the award, whichallowed increase in the height of Almatti dam across Krishnariver in the neighbouring Karnataka.
Another irrigation expert and retired engineer C HVeeraih alongwith famrers'' representatives echoed thedemand.
