Devp of ethnic groups must: Gogoi

Guwahati, Jan 12 (PTI) All round socio-economicdevelopment of different indigenous groups was a must andAssam government has created autonomous councils anddevelopment councils for each and every ethnic community,Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said.

At the same time the government was focused ongenerating gainful employment through development of skillsand on creating employment avenues outside the governmentsector, he said addressing a two-day Assam state-levelChoudang Samaroh in Jorhat.

He announced that the government will formulate ascheme for welfare of the Choudhang ethnic community.

He also announced the sanction of Rs 10 lakh forsetting up of a training centre for the community.
